DOLE BATANGAS REINFORCES OVER 300 TUPAD WORKERS UNDER BRIGADA ESKWELA

As the new school year kicks off, a total of 360 beneficiaries joined the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged Workers (TUPAD) program implementation of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) IV-A Batangas Provincial Office to assist and render significant aid to public schools during this year’s Briagada Eskwela.

In line with the directive of the DOLE Secretary Francis N. Tolentino, TUPAD beneficiaries were deployed to various public schools across the country to provide additional support to teachers and parents in the beautification, maintenance, and repair of classrooms and other school facilities under the annual Brigada Eskwela initiative.

Within the 10-day community work period, the TUPAD Brigada program found its significance in helping public schools by providing much-needed manpower, while also generating temporary employment and income opportunities for disadvantaged workers in local communities.

On May 28, 2026, beneficiaries from the municipalities of Tuy, Alitagtag, Agoncillo, San Nicolas, Malvar, and the City of Sto. Tomas attended orientation and contract-signing activities prior to their deployment.

One of the beneficiaries, Mr. Aldrin Recio, a father of two from Malvar, Batangas, shared that he has actively participated in Brigada Eskwela activities since his eldest daughter started attending school.

Recio also expressed his intention to use part of his earnings from the ten-day TUPAD work engagement to support a nearby school, while saving the remaining amount for his family’s needs.

Meanwhile, DOLE Batangas personnel ensured the unhampered delivery of services to identified schools through continuous onsite monitoring of the beneficiaries.

The TUPAD Brigada Eskwela initiative not only helped improve school facilities ahead of the opening of classes but also provides temporary employment and income opportunities to disadvantaged workers in local communities.#
