DOLE BATANGAS SPEARHEADS ONLINE LEARNING SESSION ON LABOR STANDARDS, ADJUSTMENT MEASURES PROGRAM FOR COOPERATIVES

With the goal of equipping cooperatives with the existing labor laws and available programs for their availment, the Department of Labor and Employment IV-A through its Batangas Provincial Office served as resource speakers during a learning session held via Zoom platform, 05 February 2026.
The Cooperative Union of Batangas led the program to which two resource speakers from the DOLE Batangas shared substantial knowledge on the general labor standards and adjustment measures program, respectively.
Ms. Ann Jelyn Natividad, Senior Labor and Employment Officer, kicked off the first session to which she discussed the matters on an employee’s hours of work, benefits, and other benefits the laws mandate, every worker should receive as provided in the statutory handbook.

After the session, the participants utilized the question and answer portion to clarify matters on entitlement to various leave benefits, existing minimum wage rates, and other related topics.
Consequently, Ms. April Rose Magpantay, Labor and Employment Officer III, shed light on the Adjustment Measures Program including its declaration of policy, components, and requirements to avail the said program.

According to Ms. Magpantay, cooperatives should first identify the economic disruption that they are facing and from that, propose the necessary component they need to avail ranging from the components of business enhancement, capacity building, rewards system, product development, just transition, and compliance and industrial peace enhancement measures.
Through these learning sessions, participants not only learned about compliance to labor laws but also captured opportunities that can aid them as they strive in their goal of enhancing economic opportunities for their members such as the adjustment measures program. #
