The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Regional Office IV-A through its Batangas Provincial Office (BPO) unveiled various programs on Gender and Development on February 14.

Just in time for Valentine’s Day, DOLE Batangas Director Predelma Tan led the official launching of the GAD corner, which contains learning materials on gender mainstreaming, internal communication announcements, and programs addressing gender issues and concerns.

In her message, Director Tan recognized the efforts of DOLE BPO GAD Focal Persons in implementing programs that empower women as equal partners of men in contributing to nation-building.

During the program, Director Tan formally introduced the Biggest Loser Contest which aims to promote physical fitness among office employees.

Participating employees also held their official weigh-in during the afternoon. The winning participant will be awarded on the ninth month of their weight loss journey.

Meanwhile, other employees also joined the afternoon Zumba session held at the training center of the office.

Aside from the following programs, the office also officially introduced its adaptation to the trash-to-cash program, which converts used papers to funds that can be used for the physical improvement of the office.

The office also plans to implement an “adopt a plant program” which will encourage employees to nurture a plant in the office.

DOLE BPO hopes that through these kinds of projects and programs, it will create an ideal workplace that prioritizes the overall well-being of employees.
