DOLE IV-A CONVENES 1ST QUARTER DISTRICT TRIPARTITE COUNCIL MEETING

The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Region IV-A through its Batangas Provincial Office successfully conducted its 1st Quarter Regular District Tripartite Meeting in Balayan, Batangas.

Director Predelma Tan presided the meeting with Mr. Darius Allan Lubis, Senior Labor and Employment Officer, the provincial focal person for the Social Amelioration Program (SAP). The activity gathered representatives from various sectors, reinforcing tripartite collaboration among government, labor, and management stakeholders.

The quarterly meeting served as an essential platform to review pressing issues, assess policy implementation, and discuss matters concerning the Social Amelioration Program (SAP) in the sugar industry. 

It also provided a venue for sectoral representatives to raise concerns and share insights, enabling DOLE to further evaluate and enhance existing guidelines under Republic Act No. 6982 or the Sugar Amelioration Act of 1991.

During the meeting, the council discussed several key agenda items, including the update on DTC Resolution No. 01, series of 2025.

The body also tackled the new term of DTC members for Calendar Years 2026 to 2029, alongside the current status of milling operations in the province. 

In addition, updates were provided regarding the status of pending assistance extended to PAMATU, KAISAHAN, and URC Employees Union, followed by the discussion of other relevant matters affecting the sector.

Through the conduct of the meeting, DOLE reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding the welfare of sugar industry workers and ensuring that programs like SAP are responsive, inclusive, and effectively implemented. 

The activity highlighted the value of tripartite dialogue in addressing sectoral concerns and advancing policies that promote decent work and social protection for all.#
