LOCAL JOB FAIR BRIDGES ON-THE-SPOT EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY TO A BATANGUEÑA JOBSEEKER
Finding a stable job can often feel like an overwhelming pursuit. For Beverly Ilao, a 39-year-old resident of Barangay Labac in Cuenca, Batangas, securing immediate employment was not just a career goal, but an urgent necessity to support her family's daily household needs.
After struggling to find a suitable position, her journey took a pivotal turn when she came across an online announcement for a local Job Fair in Malvar, Batangas.

Driven by her determination to build a better future for her household, Beverly decided to take a chance and participate in the event.
However, the day of the job fair presented its own hurdles. Due to unforeseen circumstances, Beverly arrived at the venue late in the afternoon, around 4:00 PM.
With closing time fast approaching, she had just enough time to submit her application to a single employer, which was a manufacturing company. Despite initial nerves and the ticking clock, Beverly approached the booth with resolve, presenting her credentials and communicating her determination clearly.
Her effort paid off immediately. In a turn of events she never anticipated, Beverly was hired on the spot.
"Natutunan ko na mahalagang maging confident at maayos na makipag-usap kapag naghahanap ng trabaho. Mas naging determinado rin ako na pagbutihin ang aking sarili at magkaroon ng magandang direksyon sa aking career," Beverly reflected, looking back on the life-changing experience.
Today, Beverly holds steady employment, allowing her to consistently provide for her family and plan for the future with renewed confidence.

Her journey stands as a compelling reminder that opportunity often favors the persistent, and that a single chance, taken with confidence, can completely transform a person's life trajectory.

With hopes of bridging meaningful and quality jobs to every Filipino, the conduct of local recruitment activities and job fairs, such as the event where Beverly found her work opportunity, is part of the continued initiatives of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) through the leadership of Secretary Francis N. Tolentino, in partnership with Public Employment Service Offices and private companies - changing lives, one decent job at a time.#
