Despite her age, 62-year-old Carolina Oriño did not mind breaking her back a little more and looked for ways to support and provide for her family.
‘Nay Carolina, shared that she currently does not have any stable forms of income, especially now that she solely provides for herself.
Due to her age, finding work is almost impossible since only a few will accept her service, and most, if not all, prefer young ones.

With the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Worker (TUPAD) program of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), ‘Nay Carolina expressed joy that she will be able to provide for her needs in the coming weeks.
“Malaking tulong po ito ma’am para sa panggastos namin sa bahay. Pambili ng mga gamit, mga gamot, at mga pangangailangan pa po namin, ‘Nay Carolina said.
‘Nay Carolina is one of the 1,367 beneficiaries from Tuy, Batangas, who received their TUPAD salaries last July 17 at the Tuy Auditorium.

Moreover, 218 of the beneficiaries were senior citizens who were able to provide medical certification that they were still fit to work within the implementation of TUPAD.
According to Ms. Erika Tiquis, a TUPAD coordinator and the person in charge of the project, the beneficiaries received their salaries through Palawan transaction codes.
Furthermore, Ms. Tiquis also expressed how convenient the payout was for beneficiaries as they won’t need to fall in line and go to a Palawan remittance branch to process and claim their salaries.

TUPAD is an emergency employment program of DOLE that aims to provide assistance to displaced workers, underemployed individuals, and seasonal workers for a minimum of 10 days.
