A total of 28 workers of a construction project received their government-mandated compensation 13th-month pay through the Single-Entry Approach (SEnA) Program of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), settled at the Batangas Provincial Office (BPO), Lipa City, Batangas, on November 2.

According to records, the requesting parties appealed to claim the just computation and compensation of their 13th-month pay for the period of June to September 2022.

Upon receiving the request for assistance, DOLE BPO’s newly-trained SEnA Desk Officer, Engr. Jenalyn De Chavez assisted the parties from their initial conference last October 12 until they arrived at their settlement agreement and payment of just compensation to the employees.

After thorough validation of payslips and other relevant documents necessary for the final computation of the compensation for employees, the respondent company distributed a total amount of P 78,455.23 for 28 workers.

For Engr. De Chavez, the resolution of the complaint for the 28 workers meant the success of the department’s mandate of providing speedy, inexpensive, and accessible settlement.

SEnA is pursuant to Department Order No. 107-10 series of 2010 which aims to provide mandatory conciliation-mediation in all regional offices to settle conflicts and issues before turning into labor disputes.
