As part of the Department of Labor and Employment’s commitment inclusive delivery of employment services for all, DOLE IV-A Batangas Provincial Office conducted a Career Development Support Program (CDSP) for persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) at the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) Lipa City Male Dormitory, April 16.

During the activity, DOLE Labor and Employment Officer III, Ms. April Rose Magpantay, emphasized the Department’s role in equipping all workers and job seekers with employment coaching to enhance their employability, including those who are behind bars and serving their sentence before their release.
The lecture proper kicked off with a learning session from DOLE Labor and Employment Officer II, Ms. Ricaela Salazar, on resume writing.
In her presentation, Ms. Salazar emphasized the importance of having a concise yet complete resume containing the necessary details of their personal information, work experiences, and other pertinent data.

To apply their learning, the participants created a sample resume through technological tools online.
Meanwhile, Ms. Magpantay discussed practical tips before, during, and after the interview in their quest to find a job. To assess the skills of the participants, each of them underwent mock interviews with the facilitators from the employment unit.

The said activity is part of the aftercare program of the BJMP Lipa City Male Dormitory through the directives of their City Jail Warden, JCINSP Aris Williamere A. Villaester, in convergence with DOLE, which aims to empower the PDLs with the necessary skills as soon as they transition back into society.
