DOLE BATANGAS, BPTIPC ORGANIZE LEARNING SESSIONS ON LABOR LAWS FOR CONTRACTORS/SUB-CONTRACTORS, FEEDMILL INDUSTRY COMPANY REPRESENTATIVES

DOLE Batangas Labor Relations Unit and the Batangas Province Tripartite Industrial Peace Council (BPTIPC) organized learning sessions for Contractors/Sub-Contractors and Feedmill Industry companies at the DOLE BPO Training Center, Marawoy, Lipa City, on February 13-14.
Provincial Director Predelma Tan graced the activities and shared in her message the importance of continuous learning especially for company representatives in maintaining industrial peace in every workplace.
During the discussion proper, Senior Labor and Employment Officers, Ms. Ann Jelyn Natividad and Ms. Mirasol Celemin shed light on General Labor Standards, the Safe Spaces Act, and the Drug-Free Workplace Policy.

Aside from these topics, Labor Inspectors, Engr. Mary Grace Lumberio and Mr. James Sevillano reiterated the essence of Occupational Safety and Health Standards compliance to ensure that every employee has a hazard-free working environment.
Meanwhile, Assistant Labor Inspector, Ms. Bea Mari Ingco introduced the Family Welfare Program for all establishments.


To equip the participants with the necessary understanding of mandatory social protection for workers, representatives from the Social Security System, PAG-IBIG, Bureau of Internal Revenue, and the Employees Compensation Commission also talk through the salient provisions of the respective laws covering their agencies.


According to Ms. Natividad, the Labor Relations Unit Focal Person, the activity aimed to promote labor law compliance among contractors and subcontractors as well as the feed mill industry.
“Taon taon na nating adbokasiya ang pagkakaroon ng ganitong klaseng learning session upang matulungan ang mga kompanya na sumunod sa mga batas at alituntunin hindi lamang ng DOLE kundi ng iba pang ahensya ng gobyerno,” she shared.
A total of 80 representatives of contractors and subcontractors, and 40 participants from Feedmill companies attended the activity.
