DOLE BATANGAS CAPACITATES LABOR ORGANIZATIONS THROUGH WODP LEVEL II-A

The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Batangas conducted the Level II-A Workers Organization Development Program (WODP) under WODP Plus training with the attendance of 25 participants from two labor unions and three workers’ associations, held at DOLE BPO Training Center, Marawoy, Lipa City, Batangas, May 9.
DOLE Batangas Provincial Director Predelma M. Tan congratulated the participants for attending the WODP training under WODP Plus. Director Tan expressed her optimism that the attendees, equipped with the knowledge and skills gained from the training, will come up with the best proposals that will benefit their organizations.

The series of trainings focused on equipping the participants with foundational knowledge and practical strategies for creating sustainable business development.
Mr. Mark Ian Recio, from the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), delivered a thorough session on start-ups, sustaining business growth, and enterprise development.

He highlighted the importance of early and strategic business planning tailored to their chosen ventures. Furthermore, he shared the essential components of a solid business plan and cited insights on the "dos and don'ts" of entrepreneurship.
During the training, the participants received encouragement to think proactively and adopt a forward-thinking mindset as they consider launching or growing their own enterprises in their respective organizations.

The comprehensive workshop and orientation in constructing project proposals were led by Senior Labor Inspector Ms. Ann Jelyn Natividad and Labor and Employment Officer III Ms. Salvacion R. Kalalo from DOLE Batangas.

They discussed hand in hand the necessary steps and phases in preparation, execution, monitoring, and evaluation of business proposals.
Ms. Ellaisa Macalintal, Livelihood Development Specialist of DOLE Batangas, also shared her expertise on how to plan, construct, and submit project proposals in the DOLE Integrated Livelihood Program (DILP). She reiterated the importance of creating realistic budget costs, a detailed manpower and materials list, and a thorough marketing plan.
The learning sessions not only provided technical knowledge but also empowered participants to think strategically and proactively.
Through the WODP Plus activity, the Department realized the DOLE’s support in fostering the growth and development of labor organizations in Batangas.
