DOLE BATANGAS RELEASES TUPAD SALARIES TO 5, 319 BENEFICIARIES IN BALAYAN, BATANGAS

For most beneficiaries, their salary meant additional support for their daily needs, but for 56-year-old Marifi Rubion and 35-year-old Editha Vizco, it is a fruit of their motherly love and sacrifice for their family.

From the beginning, ‘Nay Marifi depended on harvesting sugar cane to support their daily needs and the education of their children.

According to her, income from farming is not always sufficient, as their harvest is seasonal and is not always guaranteed. On the other hand, Editha Vizco shared how their small sari-sari store has helped them get through each day despite the little income they generate from it.

With the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Worker (TUPAD) program of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), both ‘Nay Marifi and Editha expressed relief that their family’s plates for upcoming Holy week will be full.

“Mayroon na po kami kahit papaanong pandagdag at pambili ng mga kailangan sa bahay lalo na at wala pa gaanong kinikita,” ‘Nay Marifi said.

Moreover, ‘Nay Editha expressed joy that they can finally share a simple meal as celebration for her children’s recognition day.

‘Nay Editha and ‘Nay Marifi are among the 5,319 beneficiaries from Balayan, Batangas, who received their TUPAD salaries last April 15 at the RSA Sports Complex.
