DOLE BATANGAS STRENGTHENS FUTURE WORKFORCE THROUGH LABOR EDUCATION IN SAN JUAN, BATANGAS

The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Region IV-A, through its Batangas Provincial Office, continues to fulfill its mandate of informing the public—especially graduating students about their labor rights as they prepare to enter the country’s workforce.

Senior Labor and Employment Officer Ms. Ann Jelyn Natividad served as the resource speaker for the Labor Education for Graduating Students (LEGS) held at Batangas Eastern Colleges. As one of the SENA Desk Officers who regularly handles labor-related concerns, Ms. Natividad shared her expertise on fundamental labor standards and workers’ rights.

Several academic departments participated in the seminar, including the College of Business, College of Computer Science, College of Teacher Education, and various Technical-Vocational programs. Their involvement highlights the diversity of future professionals who will soon join different fields of the labor force.

One of the attendees, Ms. Rovalia Ericka Cortez, a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration major in Human Resource Management student, expressed her appreciation for DOLE’s initiative.

Talagang nalinawan po kaming mga graduating students alam na po naming natin after this graduation after po namin dito sa school ayt mag aapply na po kami o mag hahanap ng work and mag fifield na po kami. The continuous conduct of labor education activities aims to prepare students for future employment by equipping them with essential knowledge on labor laws, workers’ rights, and the prevention of potential workplace conflicts.

DOLE underscores the importance of strong collaboration between the government and academic institutions to ensure that young professionals are well-informed and empowered as they transition to the world of work. Such initiatives play a vital role in strengthening the country’s labor force and fostering a fair and productive labor market.
