The Department of Labor and Employment IV-A, through its Batangas Provincial Office, turned over business enhancement equipment and product development innovation under the Adjustment Measures Program (AMP) to Batangas City Advent Multipurpose Cooperative (BAMCo) during a ceremonial release in Batangas City, December 17.
Through the AMP, DOLE will provide packaging materials and equipment such as PET Bottles with cooperative logo, freezer, chiller, electric juicer, heavy-duty blender, microwave, and air fryer.
Meanwhile, under the business enhancement and adaptation measures, the AMP funded the installation of the Point of Sale System (POS) and solar panels.
BAMCo Chairman, Mr. Ramil M. Marquez, represented the cooperative for the receipt of the materials and the signing of the memorandum of agreement, as well as the deed of donation.
According to Mr. Marquez, the cooperative’s urgent need for additional equipment to strengthen its business operations and ensure smoother workflow prompted them to avail the program of AMP. In his interview, he further remarked that these tools will not only improve productivity but also ease the workload of employees, enabling them to perform their tasks more efficiently and effectively.
“On behalf po of BAMCo kami po ay taos pusong nagpapasalamat so thankful ma'am for all of these things that you have ah given to our cooperative. So tulad ko na sabi niyo, we're hoping na sana po ay mapakinabangan natin lahat ang mga dinonate po ninyo sa amin organization and hopefully this coming year with the more productive po para sa amin and ah para sa ating lahat,” Mr. Marquez shared.
In her message, DOLE Batangas Provincial Director Predelma Tan expressed her utmost support for the initiatives of the cooperative in promoting healthy food choices and, at the same time, the empowerment of the cooperative’s members through the enhancement measures turned over under AMP, especially with the technological advancements when it comes to business operations.
“Yung technology natin is advancing na, and we really have to keep up with the times. Kung hindi po ay maiiwan naman din tayo. We just hope po na yung mga ibinigay namin [will help], and I think naman po ay umabot for the holidays. So yun po sanang naibigay ni department of labor and employment ay inyo pong mapakinabangan,” Director Tan remarked.
BAMCo, as a cooperative, is operating a vegan restaurant at the center of Batangas. Aside from cooked meals, it also offers soybean products like taho, soymilk, tofu, and natural fruit juices.
As part of the signed memorandum of agreement and deed of donation, DOLE shall continue the post-monitoring activities to ensure that there will be sustainability of the turned-over equipment and innovation initiatives.#
