DOLE IV-A, UNIVERSITY OF BATANGAS INK PARTNERSHIP FOR NEW JOB PLACEMENT OFFICE

The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) IV-A and the University of Batangas (UB) Lipa City signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to institutionalize and establish a new Job Placement Office (JPO), marking a significant step toward strengthening employment facilitation and youth employability in the province.

The ceremonial signing gathered key officials, including DOLE IV-A Assistant Regional Director Nicanor V. Bon, DOLE Batangas Provincial Director Predelma M. Tan, UB President Lily Marlene Hernandez-Bohn, and UB officers Mr. Vincent Alcantara and Ms. Milette De Torres.

In his message, ARD Bon emphasized the long-term value of the partnership. “I am confident that this partnership will bring long-term relevance not only to the University of Batangas and its students, but also to the broader development goals of Region 4A. Together, let us build a more skilled, competitive, and empowered workforce for the future,” he said.

The JPO will serve as a career gateway for UB students and graduates, bridging the gap between education and employment. It will deliver career development support programs, conduct labor market information drives, and strengthen industry linkages for referrals and placements.

The University of Batangas is no stranger to employment facilitation. Its main campus in Batangas City is a Hall of Famer, having earned the distinction of Best Job Placement Office in the Philippines for three consecutive years. With the establishment of the new JPO in Lipa, the university extends this legacy of excellence to more students, ensuring they receive the same guidance and opportunities.
