The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Regional Office IV-A through its Batangas Provincial Office (BPO) assisted nine senior citizens in acquiring just retirement pay through a settlement conference under the Single-Entry Approach (SEnA) program at DOLE BPO, Lipa City, Batangas, May 25.
According to Ms. Cristina Barayang, Senior Labor and Employment Officer of DOLE BPO, and the assigned Single Entry Approach Desk Officer (SEADO), the company representative distributed a total amount of P 503, 087. 50 for nine of their workers who sought assistance through SENA.

After the conference, both the employees and the company representatives expressed their appreciation for the swift assistance of the department in settling the well-deserved retirement pay for the requesting parties.
“Agad-agad naman na kami ay pinagbigyan ng magandang serbisyo sa aming kahilingan. Nagpapa salamat po ako na naayos ang aming mga reklamo…kami ay lumapit sa DOLE, natulungan po kami ng maayos at na hindi sa araw na ito ay binigyan kami ng bayad para sa aming serbisyo. Salamat po,” said Mr. Florentino Mulabong, one of the requesting parties.
Moreover, Mr. Ronel Bagsik, another worker also shared the efficient and effective delivery of the department’s service thru SENA.
“Maganda naman po ang naging tulong sa amin dahil kami po ay inasikaso ng mabuti. Hindi ko po makakalimutan ito at ako po at kung sino ‘man po ang mayroong gusto na at may problema na gustong humingi ng tulong sa DOLE ay makakahingi po kayo ng tulong, aasahan po kayo’y tutulungan. Salamat po,” Mr. Bagsik shared.
Furthermore, the company representative also shared her appreciation to the assistance for the DOLE in settling labor issues in a speedy, impartial, and accessible settlement for the workers.
“So nagpapasalamat din ako kay Ma’am Cristy sa pagtulong niya sa amin sa abot ng kanyang makakaya sa pag aasikaso sa mga senior sa mga complaints and nagpapasalamat din ako sa mga seniors sa kanilang mahabang pang unawa kahit na dumaan kami sa mga matitinding usapin. ” Ms. Lea Hecanal, a company representative remarked.

As per Article 302 of the Labor Code, “Employees shall be retired upon reaching the age sixty (60) years or more but not beyond sixty-five (65) years old [and have served the establishment for at least five (5) years.”
