PIONEER JOBSTART BENEFICIARIES CONCLUDE TECHNICAL TRAINING, KICK OFF INTERNSHIP IN STO. TOMAS CITY, BATANGAS

As part of the ongoing implementation of Jobstart in Batangas, youth beneficiaries completed their technical training phase with the partner employer, EMD Technology Philippines, Inc. (NEXEM), last July 17.

During their four-day training, the participants learned about the process of producing a certain product of the technology being manufactured by NEXEM. They underwent lecture sessions, examinations, and plant safety exposure, which equipped them to be eligible for the next phase, which is the internship.

Aside from the training allowance, they also received their technical training supplies as subsidized by the DOLE.

The trainees came from the ranks of youth who participated in the 10-day soft and core skills training last June, where 85 youth beneficiaries from Sto. Tomas City learned about good work ethics and other relevant skills they need to understand as a worker.

One of the SCST participants and now an internship trainee, 21-year-old JV Vanguardia, said that the Jobstart experience enhanced his skills and equipped him to be job-ready.

Ang experience ko po sa Jobstart is napaka saya nya and ang dami kong natutunan sa mga mentors naming and also some activities dahil lagi nila akong ginagawang leader parang naimprove ko pagiging leader ko ang my confidence is talagang nag enhanced,” Vanguardia said.

In her message during the soft and core skills graduation, DOLE Batangas Provincial Director Predelma Tan emphasized the essence of the program not only to the beneficiaries but also to all stakeholders.

“This is more than just a program. It is a bridge to a better future, a platform for our youth to discover their strengths, practice responsibility, and envision the kind of professionals they can become,” she remarked.

The trainees will now undergo a 66-day internship at the plants of NEXEM with hopes of being absorbed as full-fledged workers and soon to be team leaders of the partner employer in the future. After the internship, a grand graduation will be conducted as a culmination of the Jobstart 2025 implementation.#
