The Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board IV-A (RTWPB CALABARZON), in coordination with the Department of Labor and Employment - Batangas Provincial Office (DOLE-Batangas), successfully hosted an orientation on the recent minimum wage increase in Region IV-A. The event took place today in Lipa City, Batangas, preceding the public consultation last August 8.
A total of 210 participants from various labor organizations, management sectors, and industries throughout the province attended the WAGE Orientation IVA-22. The orientation aimed to deliver clear and comprehensive guidance on the newly approved wage adjustments, effective October 5, throughout the Region.

The participants were equipped with topics of updated minimum wage rate adjustment and wage distortion procedures. The wage exemptions applicable to various establishments, along with the prevailing social indicators set by the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA), were also addressed during the orientation. These discussions aimed to ensure that employers clearly understand how the wage adjustments are implemented across different sectors.

Additionally, Mr. Gener Rivera, Information Technology Officer of RTWPB IV-A, also provided a brief overview of the Productivity-Based Incentive Scheme (PBIS), highlighting its positive impact on both workers and companies. He explained that PBIS is a workplace-initiated program aimed at improving employee productivity while also helping companies boost employee engagement and retention.

RTWPB IV-A and DOLE hope that through this orientation, employers, labor, and management sectors gain a clear and thorough understanding of the wage increase—empowering them to implement it effectively. This initiative not only supports compliance but also contributes to fostering decent work, strengthening employer-employee relations, and driving inclusive growth.
