The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Batangas, in partnership with the Local Health Insurance Offices (LHIO) of Tanauan, Lipa, and Batangas City, conducted YAKAP (Yaman ng Kalusugan Program) orientations to expand access to PhilHealth services among private and government employees.

On December 11, 15, and 16, a three-day orientation and registration activity was conducted at EHS Lens which benefited 1500 employees from EHS Lens and its partner agencies. The activity aimed to provide the workers with easier access to government services, particularly the YAKAP Program and PhilHealth registration.

Mr. Bernardo Mendoza Jr., one of the participants of the orientation, highlighted the convenience of on-site registration, which allowed him to secure his PhilHealth ID, and register on YAKAP at same time. “Malaking bagay ang benepisyong ito para sa isang guard na kagaya ko. Hindi na naming kaylangan mamasahe para magparegister at magupdate. Salamat sa inyo.”, he shared.
Earlier this month, LHIO Batangas City, led by Mr. Sherwin H. Solis, conducted a YAKAP orientation for 205 employees of Citimart Nuciti Mall, who were all able to register the same day. Meanwhile, LHIO Lipa City, headed by Mr. Reynaldo T. Dascil, also held a YAKAP orientation for DOLE Batangas employees to further promote the program within government offices.
The YAKAP orientation was also integrated into the TUPAD (Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers) and (DILEEP DOLE Integrated Livelihood and Emergency Employment Program) orientations conducted by DOLE. This initiative ensures that the program beneficiaries and stakeholders were informed about the importance of PhilHealth membership and access to health insurance services.

With the collective efforts of DOLE, PhilHealth, and partner institutions, employees are encouraged to take advantage of available services, reinforcing the shared goal that together, everyone can access government programs while maintaining better health and improved quality of life.#
